Lapauw subscribed all of its users to a Office 365 licence which provides an account in the Microsoft cloud.

This subscription gives you a wealth of tools to work:

Hosted in the cloud (the server and its online apps / thin clients):

• Outlook: E-mail box in the cloud, including calendars and contacts

• Skype-for-business: a conferencing platform

• OneDrive: 1 TeraByte of individual cloud-storage to keep your documents safe and always available where-ever you are.
• Sharepoint: a configurable platform of sites to do things and store fil

• Office online: this is a browser-based version of Microsoft apps which you are familiar with. You can open and edit excel, word, powerpoint documents from onedrive and sharepoint directly in your browser and modify them simultaneously with colleagues. Office online has reduced features compared to the Office desktop app (see below), but it allows real-time simultaneous editing of files and it saves in the cloud.

Off-line apps (thick client):

• Office desktop apps (offline): On up to 5 devices (computer, smartphone, tablet) you can install the latest version (currently 2016) of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, Outlook, & Access. This option is only available to users with a business premium licence. Your perpetual Microsoft Office licence 2010, 2013, or 2016 will still work with documents in Office365, but only the Office 2016 version integrates fully with Office 365. It enables simultaneous editing, and continuous saving to the cloud.

• Onedrive app: the app is currently built into windows and office offline and allows you to synchronise folders from your Onedrive cloud storage or from multiple Sharepoint document libraries in the cloud to your computer.
